Once more into the Dark, Dear Friends.

Then Comes Silence have returned and as suggested by the title of
their newest outing, Darkness is again ever present.

With ‘Nyctophilian’ the Swedish Stockholm quartet debarks from escalating gloomy evil and fear. Production is trimmed of any excess to produce a tight, distorted and crepuscularly devastated postcard of human misery.

- ‘This record is less cluttered and chaotic. Earlier records aimed to induce a sense of incineration.’ tells vocalist and composer Alex Svenson (also from Sad Day for Puppets, Radio LXMBRG)

True to the course set by previous efforts, and navigating by human destruction, darkness and dystopia, ‘Then Comes Silence’ successfully unify their gothic influence in a stark postmillennial post-punk setting devoid of light.

‘Nyctophilian’ guides the listener through a seascape of boisterous postpunk, fucked up psych, swerving goth-gaze, and the abyss, while acting as navigational star spiriting the D.A.F. and Killing Joke.

Time has come to speak of Death.

- ‘Death Anxiety and Fear of Death is an inevitable and pervasive undercurrent of all living people. Death is intractable and unconditional. People avoid even talking about it. Our music most likely is a form of self-therapy and represents my way of dealing with Death. Perhaps we need to further discuss it?’ muses Svenson.

Then Comes Silence are steadily gaining ground and have performed at Roskilde and supported American brothers in arms A Place To Bury Strangers. The quartet will once more breach the shores of Germany for a 2015 spring tour. England awaits, as does the rest of Europe.
