(approximate translation of the Interview in French)

*First of all, Can you introduce yourself?

hello, I am Lil' Amel, an hip hop artist
I was lyricist for years and then I decided to move the pen to the interpretation
since 1 year I started working on an album project called D.R.E.A.M
DRUM- RHYTHM-ENERGY-ART-MUSIC
This sounds Hip Hop but there will be singing tracks & a mixture of beats (R&B, Soul, Raggaton..)

*1st question: how did you meet Studdah Man and how did you succeed to make your first contacts in New York?
it happened the first time I went to New York, two years ago , I have also met many members of the Public Enemy there and other rappers as Doc ice and I get many contacts later as Jon Damani with which I made a song. Since that 1st meeting with Studdah Man, we became and remain friends;I'm proud of this, when I was younger I was a supporter for Public Enemy, this is one of the reasons that led me to make hip hop..

*at the beginning are you gone there for music?
absolutely! it was for makin' music and contacts with rappers from Brooklyn

*what made you want to start music?
I think, I never really dared.. but many French artists told me "you can sing, why don't you?"
then force everyone to tell me, I said "why not"
I started by testing samples of vocals in the studios and then taking trust in myself, I continue

*Ok, so you come from Le Havre?
Yes in Normandie, historic departement!

*With famous artists Medine, Tiers-monde,..Normandie is an emerging city in music?
indeed, it begins to evolve positively, we have a lot of groups!

*What were the milestones in your career?
the first was writing about for 15 years, I used to write lyrics or poems, on anything..
after I started to record vocals for French rappers a short period before I finally started recording my own tracks

*So you have an album planned?
yes, hopefully, will be on air this year

and will you have shows planned ?
I started to subscribe for some, nothing is official yet, but I hope to meet the public very soon!

*but in fact you'd have a international career..
I had the chance to learn many languages and to have family around the world including Brazil,
In this regard, I have one featuring to come up with a Brazilian rapper,
this is why my project is a mix of English, French and Portuguese songs

*another question, you write yourself your lyrics; how you work? do you start first by writing or you write once you have the instrumentals?
I listen to instrumentals first, if they inspire me something I write on them, the way I write depending on what I "view" when I listen; that's how I proceed

*so most of your songs are in English, do you want to reach the international market?
I'm not trying to reach just for "market" or a class of people, but just everybody who would like to listen to my message, I chose English cause I feel myself "European" because of my multi-cultural-family, my music is for both people to London, such as France..
on that point I recorded French songs and I dedicated my people

*and You personally, do you prefer the French or English RnB/hip Hop?
I prefer the US Hip Hop, I was raised with (lol)
but Of course I listen French music

*ok now can you tell me, what are the texts and emotions are you trying to communicate in your songs?
I try to talk about all subjects
"Hip Hop" is a song that explains why I'm doin' Music, and a dedicate for mentors of old school
I wrote on others songs as "Writing in the name"
this is a tribute to someone who has died as a result of acts of racism;
here is the type of message I'm trying to bring

*what are you favorite artist?
the list is too long! but I am very attractive more by old school music whose PE of course!
in fact, I am not sectarian, I listen to everything! even Samba!
and French rappers?
I like Soprano and Corneille, I would like to make a duo with them!

*It was just the next question? with whom you would like to make a feat?
it's really these two artists I'd like the most, I like their tone of voice

*ok can you give sites where public can get information about you?
of course;
www.lilamel.com ,youtube/lilamel/official, reverbnation/lilamel,
twiter lilamelofficial

*what advise could you give for young artists?
first of all, I want to say "Never Give up", because myself, I could not believe it, I thought that Music was a very closed place as everyone thinks..
but it is not as closed as it, I succeeded to make contacts overseas and even met the PE staff!
so It is not impossible but it means a lot of works and determination too!

*last question; What has the audience could expect in listening to your album?
MELODIC HOP HOP! conscious and melodious music!
