DESCRIPTION:
Soprano Rachel Bate was the 2010 winner of the Marianne Mathy Scholarship. In this interview (filmed September 2012) Rachel tells us about her experience in the Australian Singing Competition -- as an entrant in 2009, and then as a Semi-Finalist and Finalist in 2010; ultimately winning The Mathy.

The 2010 Semi-Finals were held at the Independent Theatre, North Sydney. The Finals Concert was held in the Opera Theatre of the Sydney Opera House, with the Australian Opera & Ballet Orchestra, conducted by Giovanni Reggioli and hosted by Sara Macliver.
