Quintero is a Trip-hop/downtempo collaborative project based out of Philadelphia. Their contributors have roots in Colombia, England, Canada, and the States and draw inspiration from their varied musical experiences, backgrounds and travels. They blend Bristol Sound, Jazz, Bossa Nova, Electronica, Folk, Tango, Drum and Bass, Dub and Reggae to create a complex, dynamic and cosmopolitan sound.

Since its start in 2007, Quintero has brought its live sound to many venues in Philadelphia, New York City and Pittsburgh. Its music has been welcomed by different radio stations, not only in the States, but also around the world. Some of the radio stations worth noting are: WXPN Philadelphia, PBS Radio Melbourne Australia, Evryone’s Radio Paris France, WhistleRadio BC, Whitchurch Ontario, Auralgasms Internet Radio.

The Forbidden World, Quintero’s debut LP, was independently released in 2007. The Forbidden World displays a purer downtempo/trip-hop sound. The record was written, recorded, produced, and mixed by the two initial members: Ish Quintero and Bevin Caulfield.

2009 found the group focusing on the completion of its most recent effort, Model C. This work exhibits a broader sound. It features more than 15 of the most talented musicians in the Philadelphia area including: Ish Quintero, Matt Bell, DJ Trach Metropolis, Aaron Blouin, and the vocal talents of Bevin Caulfield, Blake Austin, Michael Baker, Alison Polins, AnnaChristie, and Zatina. It was mixed by Renato Quaresma at On Air Studios in Lisbon, Portugal and mastered by the renowned Peter Humphreys of Masterworks.

Quintero continues to be inspired by new sounds, experiences, and artists to create an ever evolving sound.
