Born and raised in Berlin, Quickmix started his music career as a drummer in a local rock- a-billy band called the „Jesters“. Later he became a DJ and also started to make his first steps into music production.
In 1984 he meet Olaf „O-Jay“ Jeglitza. Together their threw hip-hop parties, produced a radio show and published Germany ́s first Hip-Hop fanzine „Freshbeat“. In 1987 their started a band called „Masterplan“ and soon they were able to get signed by the US based „Select Records“ label as Germany ́s first Hip-Hop band.
In 1988 Quickmix co-founded his own record label called „Freshline Records“. The first release, the famous electro tune „Action!“ by the group „The Alliance“ became an instant indepentend success and drew a lot of media attention on Quickmix and his label.
Just a year later he produced the first single of the recording artist „Real McCoy“ (back then named „M.C. Sar & The Real McCoy“). The single became a hit and was followed by the even more successful second single „It ́s On You“.
The year 1993 became a milestone for Quickmix. Real McCoy released their single „Another Night“ and at the same time he got involved in a project called „Maxx“. For both productions he worked as a producer and songwriter. While „Maxx“ was an enormous success in the world-wide club scene, with commercial success on top, Real McCoy became, under the supervision of Clive Davis and his Arista label, a world-wide dance-pop phenomena with millions of singles and albums sold. Besides the numerous awards all over the world that were achieved Quickmix was honored by the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers for the Song „Another Night“, which stayed in the US Billboard Charts for almost one year.
Later he also worked as an co-engineer for a duet of „Mariah Carey“ and „Joe“, wrote and produced several songs for one of Germanys biggest actresses and singers, Yvonne Catterfeld and were hired as a producer for other commercial productions.
Quickmix continues to work as a songwriter and producer.
