In this video David shows us one of his favorite mixing tricks to add punch and enhance attack on electric guitars using parallel compression. The exact settings he's using on the API 2500 compressor to add impact, density and punch to rhythmic guitars in the mix, to make the guitar pick attack to jump out of the speakers and pop up on choruses, giving the pattern a dynamic, attention-grabbing element to it.
