The Ox Vs The Psychotic Turnbuckles - Video
PUBLISHED:  Mar 23, 2013
DESCRIPTION:
The Rock'n'Roll wrestling connection has never been fully realised until the Psychotic Turnbuckles arrived upon the scene with their loud psychedelic fuzz rock antics.

The Psychotic Turnbuckles story begins back in 1984 when JESSIE THE INTRUDER, THE GRAND WIZARD, THE CREEP, EL SICODELICO and THE SPOILER, were not only a universally feared five man tag team but almost embarrassingly consistent winners of the legendary marathon surfing competitions in their home town of Pismo Beach, California.

Upon hearing Boy George, Men At Work, Flock Of Seagulls and a Jimmy Barnes, JESSIE THE INTRUDER arrogantly declaimed "WE HAVE BEATEN EVERY TAG TEAM THERE IS! THERE IS NO REASON WHY I, JESSIE THE INTRUDER, AND MY TAG TEAM PARTNERS, MUST LISTEN TO THIS GARBAGE! WE ARE UNDEFEATED IN WRESTLING! WE ARE UNDEFEATED IN SURFING! NEXT WE WILL CONQUER ROCK'N'ROLL, AND DESTROY AND DISPOSE OF ALL DULL CITY BANDS! THIS WILL BE SWIFT AND SURE!"

So when the first time in 20 years, The Psychotic Turnbuckles come down to Melbourne to play a gig at the Cherry Bar, who else should The Dwarf get to interview the band but Melbourne's own Rock'n'Roll Wrestling icon, THE OX!

Citadel Records has reissued the group's back catalogue on a deluxe double-disc set called 'Destroy Dull City'. It contains the 'Destroy Dull City' EP, the 'Beyond The Flipout' LP, out-takes, rarities, A and B sides from every single released plus two exclusive live tracks from the band's triumphant return to Sydney in December 2012.
