DESCRIPTION:
Who lives in this part of Italy know excatly this periodo f the year. The heat came out in the weekend and people started to post tons of selfies while they are catching the sun on the beach. I talked about music and food during the weekend. I watched some old videos of my first band PSYCHO SUN recorded during early 90's. They will be part of a documentary about the alternative music scene of my town. We were not bad at all, and probabily we were more than contemporary for many things.

As Don Pastahave said during the final of Fornelli Indecisi, the claim of our land should be "lu...quai" that it means "here". Because all the things we have is beautiful, all the gifts that we receive from the nature are beautiful, here and everywhere. We should be aware of what we have, we shouldn't let be bought from easy things. Our eggplants are the answer, our tomato sauce is the the answer, not a frozen parmigiana or a bread made with grain imported from China. We should use it what we have and work to make it our marketing strategy. Business can be business with nice things, it can be business without any speculation, pollution, destruction.


Summer is such a beautiful time of the year. I love the warm weather and mother earth gives to us her most precious fruits. Strawberries are coming and mulberries are ready. Cherries. Cherries Ferrovia, a quality that is so big and juicy. Fioroni (are the flowers of the figues but they are a fruit). In the yard you can see the tomato plants growing and you think about the moment of Salsa (tomato sauce). Me, my wife, my family with psychosun, the last year ther was someone from the sellers, and with some friends we make the SALSA. The tomato plants must be watched, cuddled. And nearby there are the aubergines, and you think about the mostdelicious parmigiana of the year. Because my aubergines are small and very tasty, they are not fat and full of water without any taste, as the ordinary aubergines. And green peppers ready to be fried or stuffed with tuna.


We should think about a gas pipeline crossing Salento, but about an olive oil pipeline to bring our extra virgin oil to Germany, or a tomato sauce pipeline or a bridge to bring albanian cheese here. To what and who needs our sacrifice? Who needs the gas and who needs our land. We are our land and with all the other people we are the world. A world full of flavors to remember, discover, mix.

Afetr this almost summer weekend, musically amarcord and full of creative kitchens, I leave you to a blues that we never released with PSYCHO SUN: Cat Woman. A blues wrote some years ago, in 2009, very simple, genuine and authentic like our tomato sauce. Enjoy it.
