Originally conceived in early 2002, Psychokinetika was born into this world as a 5 piece band formed by a group of aspiring musicians located in the Portage, IN area. But during such a time, there was a considerable amount of obstacles in the way of progress, and within a timeframe of a few months the group reluctantly disbanded and went their own separate ways.

However, after a 4 year hiatus, the original keyboardist Ryan Cepolski had picked up the lifeless entity, and through a more or less trial and error phase, begun taking measures to re-establish the idea to which was left for dead years before. Taken into a new direction now that some time has passed, Ryan had begun working on audio as a means to supplement his many years of creating visual art, otherwise known as RSC2K9. The general feel of the music was geared towards ambiance and theatrics, with applications such as movie soundtracks and game music as the primary focus, in lieu of live performances. The songs that were produced in between 2005 and 2009 were mainly all instrumentals, with no apparent vocals present. During a short stint in late 2006, Psy had attempted at becoming a live set, and had incorporated 3 additional local members in hopes to create new material and play live. However ambitious the band was, it still failed to produce any creditable material, and had digressed back into a solo project, still headed by the front man Ryan Cepolski.

In 2007 the first album “Under The Influence” was compiled together; which was basically an amalgamation of noise and other elements meshed together messily to create a documentation of early work. At best, the initial album was a proving ground of creative thought; at worst it was a poorly constructed attempt at music theory. However relatively unsuccessful the effort was, in enabled Psychokinetika to mature and establish critical connections with bands such as Searad, Zach Willfond, Xenocult, Plastic Robot Army, and ZIntek.

In 2009 Psychokinetika was signed onto indie label FIXT, and released the album “Eternal”. Featuring 24 instrumental industrial tracks blended seamlessly into one another to create a flowing soundtrack of chaotic noise, hard hitting percussion and emotionally charged synth lines. Eternal’s material was consists mostly of songs that were created in early 2008 to mid 2009. To supplement Eternal, the 18 track album “Insight” was produced as an add-on to give fans who bought the Psy debut digital release a substantial amount of additional content. Insight was also labeled as a promotional tool, given to all those who’ve either collaborated with Psychokinetika in the past, or had helped distribute or promote.

Immediately following up on the debut release is the album entitled “The Chimera Strain”, which is aimed to be Psychokinetika’s most ambitious endeavor to date. Combining the catalystic nature of Psy with other elements from all over the world, the Chimera Strain is geared towards being a genre-defying, international collaborative effort at having selective members from other bands join forces to create new ground breaking material. As of now, that bands / artists who are working together for this project are Architectural Demise, Zintek, Xenocult, Cyanotic, Zach WIllfond and Deconbrio. Slated for a May 2010 release, the Chimera Strain will be the epitome of what might happen when you combine certain elements in a controlled environment. Production begins October 1st, 2009.
