Culled from four sets recorded live to 2-track on the Doghouse Audio Mobile Unit in the autumn of 2002, '3 Months' documents a cool time in Pseudo Buddha's history and features a eclectic, fun group of players. This was a transition period for the band as it was the end of Gilly Gonzales's involvement and the beginning of the Mac G3's residency. '3 Months' introduces Joe Reyes on Oudcaster, Don Stewart on percussion, Quad Rod Castro on the Black Wilson, and sees the return of Quinn the Eskimo after an absence that lasted around a year. The familiar elements of jazz, electronic music, Hindustani raga and free improvisation are all here, but overall the sound has shifted more towards an aggressive edge and slightly away from the big long drony passages that had long been a PB trademark.

September 6th, October 4th and November 1st were recorded live at Eclectic Collections and we delight in pointing out that November 14th was recorded live at the infamous and unique Tacoland; one of two live recordings ever made at that notorious venue. Eat that, cooler-than-thou hipster kids!

From the CDs liner notes:
"This CD is one in a series of raw audio documents we call the Hooka-Jooka series. Volume IV is the first that features the Listeners Digest concept of Condensed Hearing. Instead of putting out a CD that represents the live Pseudo Buddha thing from just one gig, we have taken recordings of 4 sets that we liked then edited them together so that the full running length is just over an hour. Everything here was recorded live to 2-track digital tape at these gigs: no overdubbing, no remixing, just cutting & pasting sections together and then a bit of mastering. The Hooka-Jooka recordings stand in marked contrast to our more retentive studio projects. You'll hear overloaded circuits, lotsa vibe, weird mistakes, strange telepathy, and confusing blemishes - very much the way it happened, when it happened. We like it that way."
