DESCRIPTION:
This was Chicco's first hit. Released in 1986. The video was shot in Louis Fouché's studio in downtown Johannesburg. The two young dancers (not the young kids) were dancing a new 'ghetto' style that later became the famous 'Mapantsula' style. The back up singers are Tsidi, Tiny and Makie. This production caused a stir in the industry and all local artists wanted videos like "I Need Some Money'. The story hit a nerve in the community as most people were struggling, Chicco voiced it. DOP Pierre Hinch, styled beautifully as always by Leigh VD Merwe, written, direct and edited by Makhlari. It was shot on U-matic Hi-band believe it or not. Record co is Dephon, music produced by Phil Hollis. Video produced by S&H Films.
