The Red Rock OD is the brand new addition to the Providence overdrive stable. The Red Rock is aimed squarely at single coil users and that's why I've demoed it today with a Klein Epic '52 (pickups) equipped Redhouse T5 guitar (from Melbourne, Australia).

The Red Rock OD is a low to medium gain overdrive with a Volume control that lets you tell the pedal how much input it's getting - very handy. You'll find a FAT switch to broaden the bottom the end if needed and a generally dynamic and sweet overdrive tone that stretches from classic rock through to singing lead tones. Indeed, the Tone control itself is voiced to accentuate the upper mids, a quality that will help tame single coil shrillness and push the guitar's tones through the mix when the pedal's engaged.

The build is typically Providence - almost indestructible - and the Red Rock OD makes a welcome addition to an already great line-up.
