The record debut occurred in 2000, by means of an Ep whose title is “ Sinfonie dal mondo delle cose perse”.
This is a visionary and experimental mini-CD, freely inspired by the pictures of Brian Froud’s fairy-tales. It has been entirely performed on harmonic scales, and instruments are always used in an unconventional way; this CD completely embodies the band’s introspective inclination and its personal research, whose abundance of feeling is expressed – almost as a reaction- by bare and soft electro-acoustic interlacements, by magically diaphanous structures, by harmonic threads which, being so widened, appear as rarefied.
By means of this first work, Proteus 911 immediately gained the esteem and the admiration of musical critics; at the same time it got the approval of the public which has increased concert after concert.
Anyway, the talent of the band is already acknowledged also out of Italy. In fact, “ Sinfonie dal mondo delle cose perse” obtained a special promotion in some Londoner Virgin stores, as a consequence of certain broadcasts in London.,
In Autumn 2002, the band gathered in studio in order to create its real first record work. Sounds were entrusted to Fabio Magistrali.
This time we assist again to a conceptual work in which music tries to transpose “ le condizioni dell’animo” but, differently from the previous Ep, the record is characterized by a very strong sound, lacerated by guitars that seem cutting blades, broken by violent dissonant scraps and atypical vocal interventions as well, that sorely try the listeners Apòkrifos has been showing its real essence in concerts but it has been widely praised by the press all the same, and it became one of the best debuts of 2003 (as it has been stated by the musical magazine Mucchio Selvaggio).
“Apòkrifos, although its complexity and its hardly accessible motives , is awarded second in the special prize dedicated to the best novice records: it defeats 300 records, more or less.”( Il Mucchio).
Some pieces of this last record were later on included in a special collection produced by the Wallace Records, as well as in various compilations like “Fragments” ( Psychotica Records).
Live and Performances: Proteus 911 shared the stage with SHELLAC, KARATE, R.E.M., DEVICS, TIROMANCINO, A SHORT APNEA, GIARDINI DI MIRO', SPARKLEHORSE, YUPPIE FLU, BAUSTELLE, FRANCOIS CAMBUZAT et L' ENFANCE ROUGE, ONE DIMENSIONAL MAN, MESMERICO, CANDIES, RED WORMS FARM, LOGAN, JOE LEMANand many others.

Proteus 911 è un progetto fondato nel 1998 da Massimiliano Gallo,Cristian Motta e Victoriano Labanchi.,
L’esordio discografico avviene nel 2000 con un Ep intitolato “Sinfonie dal mondo delle cose perse”.
Il mini-CD è un coacervo di sperimentazione e visionarietà, liberamente ispirato alle illustrazioni fiabesche di Brian Froud. Suonato interamente su scale armoniche, senza mai utilizzare gli strumenti in modo convenzionale, questo cd rappresenta pienamente l’inclinazione intimista della band e la sua personale ricerca, dove l’abbondanza di sentimento si traduce quasi per reazione in intrecci elettro-acustici scarni e sommessi, in strutture magicamente diafane, in trame armoniche dilatate fino alla rarefazione.
Grazie a questo primo lavoro i Proteus 911 guadagnano subito la stima dei critici musicali e di un pubblico sempre più numeroso nei concerti ma i riconoscimenti vanno oltre i confini nazionali. Il cd, infatti, ottiene una speciale promozione in alcuni Virgin stores londinesi, conseguenza di una serie di passaggi radiofonici nella capitale inglese.,
Nell’autunno 2002 la band si chiude in studio per realizzare il suo primo lavoro discografico. I suoni vengono affidati nelle mani di Fabio Magistrali. Anche in questo caso ci si imbatte in un lavoro concettuale dove la musica tenta di tradurre “le condizioni dell’animo” ma al contrario del precedente Ep questo disco è spinto da un sound potentissimo, lacerato da chitarre taglienti come lame, spezzato da violenti inserti dissonanti e interventi vocali atipici che mettono a dura prova le orecchie dell’ascoltatore Apòkrifos trova la sua vera essenza durante i concerti ma viene ugualmente elogiato dalla stampa e diventa uno dei migliori esordi del 2003 (come riconosce la rivista musicale Mucchio Selvaggio).
“Apòkrifos, nonostante la sua complessità e la scarsa fruibilità musicale, si classifica al secondo posto nello speciale premio dedicato ai migliori dischi esordienti su oltre 300 esordi”(il Mucchio).
Alcuni brani del disco sono in seguito inseriti in una speciale raccolta prodotta dalla Wallace records nonché in diverse compilation tra cui citiamo “Fragments” (Psychotica Records).

Recorded between November and March 2007 in Southern Italy, ‘Where Roses Fall’ is the third musical work of one of the most important band of the Italian indie scene. The album has been created by the minds of Massimiliano Gallo and Victoriano Maria Labanchi - Proteus 911 - who found in Eco the ideal type of element to complete the sound of the band and its line-up, entrusting lyrics and vocals to her.
It is with this line up that Where Roses Fall is composed, an album recorded without the help of expensive professional machines, but in which one can find the research of a unique and elaborate sound.
Indeed the prerogative of the album is a meticulous attention to the instruments and to the creation of a peculiar sound. Arrangements are the result of the perfect symbiosis between the three musicians: each one of them contributes in an essential way to the creation of the album.
‘Where Roses fall’ is a romantic and introspective album, suitable for those people who are interested in the unconscious language of music. To go deep into the nature of this album it is necessary to understand the imaginary universe that it holds, its symbolic character. Therefore, the title of the album is the reflection of this research. The Rose is the symbol of beauty, of finality, of absolute attainment. By means of its fall, Proteus 911 tell us about a world that disappears, a lost beauty, with the nostalgic decline of the “no return”, but at the same time they suggest us that only deep ourselves we can find the soul of this beauty and rejoin it.
Proteus 911’s works have always been aimed at a language which goes over the aesthetic of music, ‘they put their inner universe into music’, with a psychological alchemy that is always between dream and reality, light and shade. The tracks of the album have no politic or religious imprints, they get to the bottom of human soul, to its primordial fragility, into the dark side of the soul ‘where roses fall’.

Registrato tra Novembre e Marzo 2008 in un angolo di terra del Sud Italia, Where Roses Fallé il terzo e ultimo lavoro discografico dei Proteus 911,l´album che chiude una carriera quasi decennale con tre album e centinaia di concerti all´attivo Concepito dalla mente di Massimiliano Gallo e Victoriano Labanchi, i Proteus 911, che hanno trovato nella voce e nel talento di Eco l’elemento ideale da integrare nel sound del gruppo e nella formazione, affidando a lei testi e liriche dei brani.
Nasce con questa nuova formazione "Where Roses Fall", un disco registrato senza l’ausilio di particolari mezzi tecnici, alla ricerca di un sound elaborato e originale. Prerogativa del disco è, infatti, una minuziosa attenzione al suono degli strumenti e alla costruzione di sonorità sempre personali. Gli arrangiamenti sono il frutto della perfetta simbiosi dei tre musicisti: ognuno ha contribuito in modo essenziale alla realizzazione del disco.
Where roses fallé un album romantico, introspettivo, adatto a chi nella musica ricerca il suo linguaggio inconscio. Per entrare a fondo nella natura di questo disco è necessario, infatti, comprendere l’universo immaginario che esso contiene, il suo carattere simbolico. Il titolo dell’album è dunque lo specchio di questa ricerca. La rosa è essenzialmente un simbolo di bellezza, di finalità, di raggiungimento assoluto. Attraverso la sua caduta i Proteus 911 ci narrano di un mondo che scompare, di una bellezza perduta, con la decadenza nostalgica del "non ritorno", ma al tempo stesso ci dicono che è solo dentro di noi che possiamo ritrovare "l’anima" di questa bellezza e ricongiungerci ad essa.
I lavori dei Proteus 911 sono da sempre finalizzati ad un linguaggio che va ben oltre l’estetica musicale, "trasfondono nella musica un universo interiore", un’alchimia psicologica sempre in bilico tra sogno e realtà, tra luce e ombra. I brani di questo album non sono di impronta politica o religiosa , vanno dritti al fondo dell’animo umano, alla sua primordiale fragilità, in quel lato oscuro dell’essere"dove cadono le rose".
La band si é sciolta nell´inverno del 2008.
