Nights saw dawns in the flash of my poems
The days were lit like books of matches
and the streets of my life
were abound with marble fawns

Love of life borne of dreams and statues in ruin
the fleshless arms of antique Greece
and the pale ink tan of painted poets
-an orphan child adopted by the Muse led into April with nothing to lose...
