The D Edge club and label have long been house champions in their native Brazil and now they are getting the wider recognition they deserve thanks to great EPs and LPs from the talent they have A&Red. This new release is in fact a debut full length from Propulse.

The man born Fabiano Zorzan is well known in Brazil and is a resident at D Edge. As well as being a fine DJ he is also a revered live act who runs his won music company, Transmit Music. He has released tracks like Live Right Here, Full of Bossa and Glass Point but this new album is his most complete artistic statement yet.

Opening up with the sound of a DJ arriving at the club, walking in and greeting people on the way, it soon settles into a deep and stripped back house groove on ‘Night Life’. Building like a real DJ set, the album then touches on rather spooky house with sombre piano chords, freaky tech house with dark vocals and the supple minimalism in the form of ‘LJ Johnson.’

The second half of the album goes all atmospheric on ‘Smoking Area’ with its recordings taken directly from D Edge’s smoking area, then it gets back to the dancefloor and supple disco grooves, spring like house music embellished with bird song and more besides.

This album really captures what it is like to go to a club, spend a night there dancing, smoking and socialising and does so in great style.
