Prime8's entry into the world of drum & bass was via winning the unsigned producers competition in Knowledge Magazine with his first track "War & Peace" which was featured on the magazines cover cd along with an article. His second demo went on to win L Doubles Cutting Room comp on the BBC's 1Xtra radio station, which was then featured on Ras Kwame's show on BBC Radio 1 and the BBC Radio 1 website.
After being involved with several unsigned features there were various record labels interested and releases arranged. A list of releases is shown above this biog with respected labels such as Brigand, Vibez, Deep Soul Music and Point9 Audio. His first release was through Touchin Down Productions and entitled "Alone" receiving plays from various djs throughout the drum & bass scene. As part of the group "Coalition" the track - "True" is currently doing the rounds in the clubs and available to buy on 12" on Deep Soul Music. Gaining support from the likes of Radio 1's Fabio and Alix Perez to name a few.
Newly released "Jungle Jazz" includes a remix of his collab with Dan Marshall - by leading producer DKay, having previously remixed London Elektricity, High Contrast and achieved chart success with his track "Barcelona" this track is featured on the respected Brigand Music label.

"Brigand keeps up the pressure in 2008 with another sublime piece from two relatively new artists in the scene. Having previously released tracks on Under Construction and Bios, Dan Marshall hooks up with his bassdrive.com partner Prime8 for this hot summer stepper that’s currently a big hit on the more liquid dance floors across the UK and Europe.
‘Jungle Jazz’ kicks off with a tough 2-step break coupled with a rich orchestral stab and funked out horn motife that signals the dropout. Wait for the ‘this is what we call jungle jazz’ vocal and the b-line punches its way in and takes us away on a trip to d’n’b soul heaven.
Then on the flip label honcho D Kay goes in on the remix and comes out with a disco-tinged monster to send the ravers crazy! A longed out intro of bass kicks, sirens and the original vocal build to a glorious drop of a deep thumping bassline with some nasty edits every 8 bars that keep you entertained for the duration. "
The Track has recieved great reviews from many music publications including top tune of the month award from International DJ Magazine and a four star rating from DJ Magazine.
Prime8 is resident DJ at the biggest d&b night in Wales - Aperture in Clwb Ifor Bach & Glo Bar Cardiff, as well as travelling to many different venues across the U.K and europe to play. Having worked with the likes of Editors and Thirteen Senses as a sound engineer, Prime8 went on to play to crowds at Glastonbury 2005 in the newly created Glastonbury Dance Village, moving on to play alongside DJ's such as High Contrast, Marcus Intalex, Cyantific, Mampi Swift, DJ Fu & Jungle Drummer, Ray Keith, Nu:tone. He has also seen his music featured on a variety of radio stations, including BBC Radio 1, BBC 1Xtra, KISS FM, Ministry Of Sound radio, Kool FM and others. Play Support has come from a wide variety of DJ's - LTJ Bukem, DKay, Redeyes, Fabio, Saburuko, Bethan Elfyn, Huw Stephens to name just a few.
Having Recently worked on tracks and Remixes with the likes of Saburuko, Bionic1, Cybass, Paul SG, Stunna, Jayflux, and also downtempo projects under the alias Alteregos, keep an eye out throughout 2008 for some brand new music.

Hosted by MC LOWQUI (Metalheadz resident MC), the hour-plus journey finds many of the tracks from the unmixed side as well as exclusives from some of the scene's heavyweights. LOXY and MATT-U join forces on "'DARK NIGHTS," NU:TONE and LYNX combine talents on "EAST TO WEST," and RANDOM MOVEMENT steps forth with the deep and brooding "LESSON AND AFTERMATH." Topped off with superb tracks from the likes of SYNCOPIX, BLAME, BLOCKS, WHIZZ, DAZE, and AMANING himself, this debut mix (the first in a series, with many guest selectors to come in the future) illustrates what the BIOS label is all about : quality through diversity.
