Washington Phillips( January 11, 1880-September 20, 1954)Freestone County, Texas Gospel Singer, Song Writer- known for his unique sound - the Dolceola aka Celetaphone, Phonoharp,.can sound somewhat like a Fretless Zither- it is said by some that the instruments were entirely home-made by Washington(?) Recorded between 1927 and 1929. My notes are based on what I've been told or read over the years..so any additions/corrections are welcome
