Poppy & The Jezebels
They are clever, funny and devastatingly cool – and they don't sound like anyone else. The Guardian

Well, aren't they just a big pile of charisma? We'll keep banging on about how we liked them first… are Poppy & The Jezebels going to be the best thing to happen to girls and music and life in general? (Yes!) Sugarscape
A whirling airy, big sounding single from the teenage uberfraus… NME (Track of the Week)
Like something from the golden days of Smash Hits – Poppy & The Jezebels have the freshest girl group sound I've heard since the days when Destiny's Child were still good. The Guardian Guide
Poppy & The Jezebels all attended the dame Birmingham comprehensive school and began playing together when Mollie, Amber and Dom, then in year 9, were joined by drummer Poppy – a year older at 15.

Seriously adept at social networking, the girls were travelling to London and sharing bills with The Horrors and Shonen Knife before Mollie's 14th birthday.

Poppy & The Jezebels signed a publishing deal with Mute Song and released two 7" singles, establishing their own label – Gumball Machine. Then realising that time was on their side, they quit college and have spent the last year song writing, rehearsing and recording.
Smitten with his pop philosophy, and intrigued by his remixes and 're-productions' of Soft Cell and Saint Etienne, the girls approached Richard X (Sugarbabes, Kylie, M.I.A.) with their rehearsal room demos. He agreed to produce, with a new single 'Sign In, Dream On, Drop Out!' chosen as their first release. The song addresses matters current on teen earth and suggests alternatives to the crushingly conventional pathways on offer today.
The single was completed in January when the girls persuaded Mute Records founder Daniel Miller to collaborate – using the original Korg synth that appeared on his recordings as The Normal and Silicon Teens. Richard X then mixed this element of post-punk 'synth Britannia' with the girls modern take on girl-group pop.

Wishing to connect with the energy experienced during their frequent forays into Birmingham's bass-drenched club scene, the girls worked teenage DJ / producers Substantial Error on a further remix.
Poppy then collaborated with young film maker David Stanley to create the videos that accompany each mix.
Poppy & The Jezebels listen to classic pop from (Phil) Spector to Spears. They swear by The Slits yet retain a place in their hearts that is forever Spiceworld.
