THE CASUALS – BIOGRAFIA

Formato da Howard Newcomb (chitarra, voce), John Roy Tebb (organo, voce), Alan Taylor (basso, flauto, voce), Michael Bray e Rob O' Brien (batteria), Ian Bruce Good (chitarra, armonica) e Steve Wallace (basso), il gruppo inizia a suonare nei locali di Liverpool.
Nel 1966 i The Casuals giungono in Italia dove, ottenuto un contratto con la CBS, e poi con la Joker etichetta della famosa casa discografica SAAR Records, pubblicano alcuni 45 giri in lingua italiana e nel 1967 con la Jolly, un album antologico, “Hour World”.
Il loro più grande successo discografico è “Jesamine” del 1968, con questo singolo si affermarono nelle classifiche europee; tra le altre incisioni italiane bisogna ricordare la canzone “Massachusetts”, cover dell'omonimo brano dei Bee Gees.
Nel 1969 la SAAR Records e i The Casuals partecipano anche al 19° Festival di Sanremo con la canzone “Alla fine della strada”, eseguita in abbinamento con Junior Magli.
Dopo lo scioglimento del gruppo, Alan Taylor formerà dapprima i Ping Pong, poi i Bulldog, i Barbados Climax e contribuirà nel 1978 come produttore per la SAAR al lancio di Vasco Rossi e come coautore della canzone “Albachiara”.

BIOGRAPHY

Formed by Howard Newcomb (guitar, vocals), John Roy Tebb (organ, vocals), Alan Taylor (bass, flute, vocals), Michael Bray and Rob O 'Brien (drums), Ian Bruce Good (guitar, harmonica) and Steve Wallace (bass), the band began playing in Liverpool's local.
In 1966, The Casuals came to Italy, where they obtained a contract with CBS and after with the Joker label, part of the famous record company SAAR Records. Under this label they have published some singles, also in Italian and in 1967 with the Jolly label, an anthology album, "Hour World" .
In 1968 with the single “Jesamine”, they have achieved their biggest success in the european charts; among other Italian recordings, we must remember the italian version of “Massachusetts”, covered from the Bee Gees homonym song.
In 1969, SAAR Records and The Casuals have participated at the 19th Sanremo Festival with the song " Alla fine della strada ", performed in partnership with Junior Magli.
After the dissolution of the group, Alan Taylor will continue his musical carreer with new groups as the Ping Pong, then the Bulldog and the Barbados Climax. In 1978 he will contribute as a producer for the SAAR to the launch of Vasco Rossi and as co-author of the song “Albachiara”.
