DESCRIPTION:
Thomas Strønens drum ensemble, Extended ground, travelled to Brazil to play concerts, supporting Food. (Ballamy/ Strønen)
Extended Ground consists of batchelor students from Norwegian Academy of Music, Oslo. The music is composed by Strønen and conducted through a variety of signs and signals during interplay.
(The music in the beginning is from a concert with Extended Ground feat. Arve Henriksen and Eivind Aarset)

The movie is part of a research which considers how establishing a close relationship between a group of bachelor level music students and an experienced professional ensemble can contribute to the students' musical development and prepare them to function in a globalized, non-institutionalized professional life.
