Platinum South Records was established February 22, 2007 by rapper/producer Explicit aka Fly Boi Champ. Explicit than went on to add rapper/producer Kamo aka Kamoflaj Da Don to the Platinu South Roster. Alone the line he picked up rapper HardHead and months later rapper/producer Yung Dray. On August 16, 2007 he branched Platinum South Records and established Platinum South Promotions. A Promotion branched used for promoting Platinum South Artist. The Promotion also works with outside artist. The Branching Also includes Platinum South Designs, which involves artwork, background, and promotional designs. After the Branching Explicit went on to gain the rap group DFG (Da Flatline Gang) which includes Mayo, Hood, C.I.T.Y., Jay & Hussle. On June 20, 2008 rapper/artist Hardhead was dropped from the Platinum South roster. Explicit explained the reason as a failure to produce quality tracks or tracks at all for the nature. Platinum South reappeared in May 2009 with a whole new roster.
