Lyrics:

Let’s go meet the planets
There are eight that orbit our sun
Let’s go meet the planets
The planets of our solar system

My name is Mercury
I’m the closest to the sun
The smallest planet that there is
I have no moons, I don’t need one.

My name is Venus
2nd planet from the sun
My clouds keep me nice and warm
Making me the hottest one!

My name is planet Earth
3rd from the sun
The only one with plants and animals
I’m where you’re from!

CHORUS:
Let’s go meet the planets
There are eight that orbit our sun
Let’s go meet the planets
The planets of our solar system

I am Mars I’m number 4
Named after the God of War
Got 2 moons above my head
And I am the color Red

Number 5 I’m Jupiter
The biggest planet of all
I’m not just a dusty rock
I’m big gaseous ball.

I’m Saturn, I’m number 6.
My rings are so nice.
They make me look spectacular
Made of rocks and ice!

CHORUS:
Let’s go meet the planets
There are eight that orbit our sun
Let’s go meet the planets
The planets of our solar system

Number 7 I’m Uranus
My rings go up and down
That’s because I’m spinning on my side
I’m the coolest planet around!

Neptune I am number 8
Who do we appreciate
Farthest planet from the sun
It’s cold and dark where I come from

CHORUS: Let’s go meet the planets
There are eight that orbit our sun
Let’s go meet the planets
The planets of our solar system

Please don’t forget about me.
I am Pluto
I’m called a dwarf planet!
Just so you know.

CHORUS:
Let’s go meet the planets
There are eight that orbit our sun
Let’s go meet the planets
The planets of our solar system

This song teaches lots of facts about each planet:

Mercury – Closest planet to the sun, has no moons
Venus – 2nd from the sun – Hottest planet in the solar system because it’s clouds hold in the heat.
Earth – Where we live, 1 moon, only planet in the solar system known to have support life
Mars – 4th planet from the sun, Red Planet with 2 moons named after the Roman God of War
Jupiter – 5th planet from the sun, Biggest planet in the solar system, has at least 67 moons.
Saturn – 6th Planet, has rings made of rock and ice particles, has at least 53 moons
Uranus – 7th planet, tilted on its side, has rings, coldest planet in the solar system, 27 known moons
Neptune – 8th planet, farthest from the sun, has 6 faint rings, and 13 known moons
Pluto – A Dwarf Planet, usually farther from the sun than Neptune, but crosses Neptune’s orbit, has 5 known moons
There are 4 other know dwarf planets: Makemake, Eris, Ceres, Haumea

NASA also just found 7 terrestrial planets orbiting the Trappist-1 dwarf star... More planets to meet! :)

Cassini just caught these brilliant photos of Saturn's rings:
