Weissenborn vs Cigar Box Guitar "Echoes Of A Patuxent Daydream" - Video

DESCRIPTION:
SlowHound Vs BeamerBoy "Echoes Of A Patuxent Daydream"

This peice of music is a collaboration between myself Aron Radford aka "Beamerboy" (my old CBN username) and a gentlemen called Steve Potts aka "SlowHound".

We both met up at the Cigar Box Nation website over a year ago now. Steve plays cigar box guitar (CBG) and i used too as well, but Steve is on a different planet when it comes to playing CBG. He plays slow hence the name and keeps things simple and lets the slide and the sustain do the talking. he is highly regarded amongst the CBG fraternity (myself included)

The track here is basically Steve playing his own CBG instrumental which he wrote and called "Patuxent Daydream" and me doodling over the top on my weissenborn (capoed at the 7th fret).

Steve's original is quite brilliant (alas the recording quality is not so) but sometimes that just doesn't matter. I have mixed my parts over the top and tried to create some contrast (hence the high capo) and counter melody. I have lost the original files so this is something i can revisit atm. But i have been playing this track lately on my ipod and thought id post it anyway, as i like (although Steve described it as a mash up lol). He gave me his blessing though to share it all the same. if you do happen to like it then check out Steve's facebook page @ Slowhound Cigar Box Guitars or his youtube channel name is SlowHoundCBGs

If you're interested in the original "Patuxent Daydream" (CBG only) video that Steve originally posted use this link.....

Oh I did I mention he makes some of the most exquisite cigar box guitars around in his spare time too, the CBG's featured in the video are Steve's.

Thanks for listening and please subscribe (to me and Steve) :-)
