Rick Jakubowski wrote this song in a coffee house in Juneau, Alaska the day of his first ever live performance of his own songs in the Alaskan Hotel. I'd been working on it for ages and it just came flooding out of me that day, who knows why. I ended up having it as the finale of that show too, and it has stuck that way ever since. It's a song about what a young person might think looking on the world at face value and all the conflicting opinions that can tear a person apart. In the end, the only way is to follow your instincts I guess.
