"I created this track on June 21st, on the shortest night of the year. I was standing at my studio window while a heavy but yet warm rain came down, almost flooding the street. I felt like all the dirt and all the dust of the city was washed away. A melancholic and yet enlightening feeling, that I wanted to capture in music.
First of all I recorded the sound of the rain out of my studio window and then created a melody with a dusty sound. The track was created in a productive rush, all the key elements were already there after one hour, constantly creating and combining new beats, sounds and patterns, which is such a great and satisfying process.
Mixing all that correctly however usually takes me ages, haha!
When the sun came up I wondered which label could be good for this melodic and melancholic tune and remembered some of my favourite tunes on Parquet Recordings like "Jule" and "Open Air". So I send it to label boss Solee and he happily picked it for his forthcoming mix compilation, which will be out on Beatport on September 27th."
