Noah Preminger: Sounds & Excerpts (EPK 2012) - Video
PUBLISHED:  Nov 08, 2012
DESCRIPTION:
Brooklyn-based saxophonist Noah Preminger brings a unique sound, technical mastery and a narrative sensibility to his playing that belies his youth. On his 2011 sophomore album, Before the Rain, released on Palmetto Records, New York Times jazz critic Ben Ratliff says, "He's representing himself, and he sounds older here — not three years, but maybe 33 ... He designs a different kind of sound for each note, an individual destiny and story." A relative newcomer to the scene, Preminger has already developed an instantly recognizable sound. According to the Boston Globe's Siddartha Mitter, "He plays with not just chops and composure, but already a distinct voice." In 2009, Preminger received a nomination for "Up and Coming Jazz Artist" by the Jazz Journalists Association. Preminger's debut album, Dry Bridge Road, released on Nowt Records, was named "Jazz Debut of the Year" by the prestigious Village Voice Jazz Critics' Poll.

The Noah Preminger Group will be in the studio November 2012 making their newest recording for Palmetto Records. Stay tuned!
