DESCRIPTION:
The first independent project by Baltimore-based Christian rock band Ashes Remain, released in 2003. The album was the only release to feature original bassist Ben Ogden, who left in September 2004 to pursue other interests and was replaced by current bassist Jon Hively shortly after. The album showcases a much softer sound compared to the heavier sound that would be featured on their next record, Last Day Breathing. This is also the only album where vocalist Josh Smith does not use screamed vocals. The songs After All This (which had the poem at the end removed and the piano piece at the beginning was turned into a separate track, Via Dolorosa), Broken Pieces (which had the chorus sung in a different way), Cry Out and Pain (which are both relatively similar to their LDB counterparts) were all rerecorded for Last Day Breathing in 2007.
