From the heart of NEW YORK CITY comes MESHA a new and enthralling Caribbean artist with a remarkable and compelling sound. It is an exotic fusion of REGGAE DANCEHALL,R&B and HIP-HOP. Although her first love is REGGAE, She is just as captivating and comfortable doing R&B.
Inspired by her family,R&B artist such as WHITNEY HOUSTON and TONI BRAXTON and reggae artist such as LADY SAW and PATRA, MESHA had both powerful and challenging role models growing up. Literally armed with knockout vocals and well written songs, MESHA is ready to showcase her outstanding talents.
Born into a family of singers,songwriters and musicians MESHA started singing at the tender age of five. She, along with her two elder sisters later formed a group called the M GIRLZ. The group performed everywhere including, school variety shows, house parties, sporting events and on local television shows. Two years later, M GIRLZ won an award for the best vocal group. After five years performing with her sisters, MESHA decided to go solo. Roughly one year later, she was hired as a lead singer for Belize’s top band called “SANTOS MESSENGERS’ and toured CENTRAL AMERICA and the USA. By the year 2000 MESHA was known as Belize’s top ranking female artist but she had bigger dreams.
MESHA migrated to N.Y.C. where she continues her journey to be a superstar and has transformed a once sweet voice into nothing short of amazing. Since her arrival in N.Y, MESHA has performed at numerous venues. She has shared the stage with various bands and artist such as, JOE, AMERIE, MELISSA MORGAN as well as reggae artist such as SIZZLA KALANJIE, BEENIE MAN, DAMIAN MARLEY and many more. MESHA is not only a sensational vocalist but also an outstanding songwriter. One thing is certain, she incorporates all the influences she had growing up to create lyrics that are uniquely spiced. When asked what she hopes her listeners will get from her music, she responds “the power of a great song, you dance, you reminisce, you get a little naughty, and when it’s over you play it all over again”. Many times after performing people would ask her “where can we get your music”? or “ when is your next performance”? “ which tells me that people must really like my style”.
=MESHA recently became affiliated with the ARTISTIC LABEL and is confident that she will now be getting the time and attention she deserves and needs to become a major force in reggae. ARTISTIC is a reggae label run by top notch songwriter CARLTON “TETRACK” HINES along with his brother and producer/studio engineer JIMI HINES. Together they make a very talented and formidable production team. They have worked with many of the top reggae artist including…CAPLETON, DENNIS BROWN, MERCILESS, GEORGE NOOKS, GREGORY ISAACS, COBRA and PINCHERS as well as rising stars like LUTAN FYAH, CHRISINTI and ANTHONY CRUZ. Their ARTISTIC RECORDING STUDIO in KINGSTON JAMAICA is up and running and they are looking forward to doing a lot of exciting work with MESHA. Her first recording on the ARTISTIC LABEL “CAN’T LIVE FOR YOURSELF’ written by CARLTON HINES is now available and is already getting positive reviews. It will definitely be a stand out track on a “tuff” compilation that is scheduled for release in early spring 2007. MESHA feels real irie about her new affiliation and quickly points out that “music is the love of my life”. With MESHA’S obvious skills combined with the talent and experience of the ARTISTIC PRODUCTION TEAM, there is just one thing left to say………WATCH OUT.
