Old Crow Medicine Show - Eutaw (Original Versions) - Video
PUBLISHED:  Feb 17, 2014
DESCRIPTION:
Eutaw is probably my favourite OCMS album and all but one of the songs on it are traditional so I thought it would be cool to recreate the albums track list using the original versions. I've used the versions that I believe inspired Old Crow and where I couldn't work that out I used the most well known version of the song or the one I could find that most resembles the version on Eutaw. I've included pictures of the original artists for all but two of the songs (Tear It Down and Shack No. 9) where no pictures were available. Below is a listing of which artists play which songs, the label they recorded them for and the year they were recorded. Enjoy some old-timey music!

1. Raise A Ruckus (Gus Cannon, Stax, 1963)
2. Tear It Down (King David's Jug Band, Okeh, 1930)
3. If The River Was Whisky (Charlie Poole, Columbia, 1930)
4. Lonesome Road Blues (Crying Sam Collins, Banner, 1931)
5. Sittin' On Top Of The World (Mississippi Sheiks, Okeh, 1930)
6. Boll Weevil (Gus Cannon, Stax, 1963)
7. Down South Blues (Dock Boggs, Brunswick, 1927)
8. Cocaine Habit Blues (Memphis Jug Band, Victor, 1930)
9. The Silver Dagger (Blue Sky Boys, Bluebird, 1938)
10. Goodbye Booze (Charlie Poole, Columbia, 1926)
11. Shack No. 9 (Arthur Tanner, Columbia, 1927)
