Shotgun Rationale live at the Tapioca Club somewhere in Spain 1995.

This was during a sanity shredding ten(!)-week European Oddysey Of Pain that defies all description. Don't ask.

So 'WHO THE HELL are Shotgun Rationale ?' you ask. Well, to be honest I hadn't heard of the group either. The actual band name btw, is 'Sonny Vincent and Shotgun Rationale', which at least makes clear who is the bandleader/star here. And it is none other than "New York punk legend" and pivotal punk rock proto person Sonny Vincent, who is the sole constant factor in this band / project..

Surrounding himself with an ever revolving cast of interchangeable backup musicians, SHOTGUN RATIONALE's previous line-ups boasted more *GASP* WTF name recognition factor than you can shake your dick at.

Ensuring that mouthbreathing fanboy bullshit keeps smoldering at all times, some of the bona fide stalwarts and P-rock veterans in Shotgun Rationale include Bob Stinson (Replacements), Cheetah Chrome (Dead Boys), Scott Asheton (Stooges), Sterling Morrison (Velvet Underground), one of those dudes from the Plasmatics, Greg Norton (Husker Du), Richard Hell, Steve Baise (Devil Dogs), etc. Even Captain Sensible, could be persuaded. WTF ?

And although that looks real nice on Sonny's press-kit, there is NOTHING for Sluggy after spending 10 weeks of my life, zig-zagging all across Europe without pay in the most Spartan and gruelling way.

So it is only out of a sense of completion and reverence that Sluggy brings you this Shotgun Rationale footage.
I painstakingly digitized it from an old VHS tape that had been gathering dust under my beat up couch for 15 years.

Audio enhancement was done by "re-mixing" drastically differently EQ'd tracks, and running the end "mix" through tube compressor emulator software (T-racks).
