Singer, songwriter, actor…Kevin Young is a bona fide triple threat. Born and raised in Kings Mountain, North Carolina, Kevin realized his passion for singing early in life. He won his first vocal competition at the tender age of eight and has since garnered many others including the distinguished NAACP ACT-SO Award. While attending high school, he was chosen to participate in the highly prestigious North Carolina Honors Chorus. He honed his vocal skills and leadership qualities by serving as praise and worship leader at his church for many years. Determined to take his career to greater heights and gain a deeper knowledge of the music business, Kevin worked with Grammy Award-winning artist India.Arie as a production assistant on the Voyage to India tour. Fully inspired, Kevin continued to hone his craft by performing at every opportunity. In 2005, the burgeoning singer made his major debut when he appeared on “Gimme The Mike Charlotte”, North Carolina’s version of “American Idol”. With his captivating voice, Kevin beat out hundreds of hopefuls to reach the semi-finals. Following his successful appearance on “Gimme the Mike Charlotte”, Kevin signed with Talent Link, one of North Carolina's top commercial & film agencies. He has since starred in several television commercials, films, and stage productions. Kevin Young is a true entertainer both on and off the stage. Armed with talent, drive and the desire to create unforgettable music, Kevin won’t stop until all of his dreams are fulfilled… and even then he’ll keep on singing.
