DESCRIPTION:
From my new CD "Dream, Never Fear". A song written about the IRAQ war from the point of view of a veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Lyrics below
Commander In ChIef
Operation freedom, leaves me here in chains
Staring down the barrel of your financial gains
I was just a high school kid I signed the dotted line
now what's mine is yours and all I got was time
out here in the sandbox low food and low supplies
RPGs and roadside bombs, wounded brothers' cries
you sit and watch from Washington while we're the ones who toil
tell me that the lives we give are worth more than oil
Heroes don't need to bleed or die
Patriotism, is our battle cry
tell me there's no need for disbelief
Just an honest answer, commander in chief
this is just an exercise in first amendment rights
I still love the USA enough to stand and fight
uphold the constitution, defend you night and day
then I hear what's going on down there in Abu Ghraib
Nobody loves peace more than a soldier
I was young and poor but now I'm older
Here I am on recon, in this rich man's war
If I don't get an answer I'm not fighting anymore
