October 28 1957, After a wild show at the Pan Pacific Auditorium in Los Angeles, the Los Angeles Vice Squad tell Elvis Presley that he was not allowed to wiggle his hips onstage. The local press also ran headlines saying Elvis would have to clean up his act or go to jail. The next night, the Vice Squad filmed his entire concert, to study his performance. Elvis tells the audience "You should have been here last night!"

October 29 2007, Walk the Line, the film about the life of singer Johnny Cash, was voted the greatest music biopic in a poll of more than 2,000 video customers. The film starred Joaquin Phoenix and Reese Witherspoon as Cash and his wife June Carter and won the actress an Oscar in 2006.

October 30 1939, Born on this day, Grace Slick of the Jefferson Airplane and Starship. Grace is somebody we love!

October 311964: Barbra Streisand's "People" album reaches No.1 and begins a five week stay.

November 1 2007, Avril Lavigne was named best solo artist, and her song Girlfriend was voted most addictive track at this year's MTV Europe Music Awards held in Munich, Germany.

November 2 1999, 'There Is Nothing Left To Lose,' the Foo Fighter's third studio album, was released. Early pressings of the disc included a temporary tattoo, similar to the one featured on the album cover. The album went on to win the Grammy Award for Best Rock Album in 2001.
