The adventure started in 2007.
After many years spent travelling across India with Nuove Tribù Zulu, I had the chance to catch up with Laura in Rajasthan. She was filming a documentary series on children of nomads with the filmmakers Meenakshi Vinay Rai, social activists and experts in nomadic issues from northern India.

Anthropologists reckon Roma people have come from India hundreds of years ago, and I was now enjoying the occasion of comparing the experience I had in Italy with Roma khorakhanè.

When I got to India, Meenakshi and Vinay took us to the Bhopa village, to meet the tribe of musicians and storytellers. That's where I met Suraj Bhopa, music healer and ravanhatha player. I had never heard the sound of his string instrument before and its resonance with his timeless voice touched my heart.
The alchemy immediately happened and we needed no words. We started singing and playing together while an undefined number of his children accompanied us on the bhapang and dholak. The community participated and the day turned into unforgettable. That's how NOW started. What happened later on was a gradual and constant work of knowledge and research on field.

I spent a few months in Rajasthan that year and I met many musicians from different communities: the Kalbelya, snake charmers and been players, the Banjara, the desert gypsies and I started discovering some beautiful folk instruments like the morchang, the karthal, the sarangi and the kamaicha. A wonderful time that made me understand that music overcomes any linguistic, ethnic and cultural boundary.
After a few village performances, we finally got NOW to play at Dilli Haat, arts and culture centre in the capital New Delhi.
After some time, in 2008, Paolo and Roberto, my life's best adventures mates and they contributed to giving the project more strength and completeness.
Together between Delhi and Alwar, when we got to catch up with Laura, we experimented new music and human languages; we have worked for months in a colourful and crazy reality, we have slept under the stars sharing unique moments that made NOW stronger, all the way to the India Habitat Centre Auditorium concert in New Delhi.

Finally in 2009, thanks to some precious "visionaries" that helped us with our venture of taking the large indo-italian company to Italy, we made the Caravan Tour possible and that's when the rest of Nuove Tribù Zulu joined us with Ludovica and Alessandro. After a few months, we all left to India together for the NOW India Tour 2010 that led us to the most beautiful stages in New Delhi, Mumbai, Gurgaon, Chennai and Auroville with the friendship and the collaboration of Chinh India and Italian Institute of Culture, New Delhi.
This is the very first artistic encounter between Italian rock and Rajasthani folk music: a message of peace and unity beyond differences. The aim of NOW is to promote nomads' civil rights and enhance their music heritage merging it with the modern language of rock.
The bridge between East and West is standing.
This CD is a dream come true.
