Feist - "The Park" (LJM Seduction Remix) - Leslie Feist meets Nils Nurnberg - MUSIC VIDEO - Video
PUBLISHED:  Nov 12, 2010
DESCRIPTION:
In the Spring of 2010, I took an Electronic Music course at Landmark College. One of the assignments was to blend together two pieces of music however which way you chose, in whatever fashion you saw fit, using the music recording and editing software, Audacity.

For my piece, I decided to take Leslie Feist's sorrowful gem "The Park" (found on her record titled "The Reminder"), and set it alongside something different; more upbeat - yet still contemplative.

I chose Nils Nurnberg's hypnotic and pounding progressive-house number, "Seduction", which gives Feist's soulful, dreamy vocals (in their slight-downtempo) a solid, yet simplistic and structured base to hover over, as she weaves in and out of Nurnberg's ever-present, persistent rhythm.

So......here we are.. the video. One early morning, as I was getting my day started, I was listening to the final product, and for some apparent reason or another, I decided that my creation, my blend of genres, needed an official music video. Having no idea what I would conjure up to appropriately represent the tunes, as Feist meets underground house music, I looked at what was in front of me on my desk, and immediately turned the volume to 100%, started recording, and hit 'Play' on iTunes.......what resulted at my desk for the next several minutes I can't say much of, simply because I have no idea what I was doing, except improvising; or where I was going...; and I can't tell you what it means because I really don't know myself, except for the fact that you could classify this in, how I like to put it - "improvisational lunacy."
