Pandit Nikhil Banerjee's Guru was Ustad Allauddin Khan and Raag Shree was his favourite raag (as detailed in his autobiographical book “Amar Katha” (My Life) ). Probably it is Panditji's tribute to his Guru on the day of Guru Purnima by playing his favourite raag.
