Nico Royale è la nuova voce del reggae proveniente dall’Appennino bolognese. Attivo dai primi anni del 2000 con il sound Casalypso e poi in studio con Forward the Bass, è conosciuto per la sua voce melodica ma allo stesso tempo esplosiva. La sua energia nei live lo ha portato a dividere la scena con artisti del calibro di Jah Cure, Million Style, Collie Buddz, Sud Sound System, partecipando varie volte al Rototom Sunsplash e ad eventi internazionali.

Nel 2005 vive per un anno a Città del Messico, entra in contatto con la scena reggae della zona, e riscuote un ottimo successo di pubblico che gli permette di esibirsi a Panama, Cuba, e in varie zone del Messico, pubblicando anche il suo primo demo.

“Singa”, uscito nel giugno del 2009, è il suo primo album ufficiale. E’ composto da 14 tracce che segnano la maturazione dai vecchi successi ("Erba della montagna", "Aria fresca") alle produzioni più recenti ("Non riusciranno mai", "Cultura e realtà") passando per alcuni singoli usciti negli ultimi anni per le migliori etichette italiane (“Il fuoco brucia ancora”, la title track “Singa”). E' un prodotto indipendente che nasce grazie all'etichetta "Montagna di Suono" una realtà radicata nel territorio che promuove la musica reggae a Bologna e provincia. Alle produzioni Forward the Bass, Audioplate, Segnale Digitale, Zuingo, Bizzarri e il duo pistoiese B.Dub (Mark-one - Matteo Magni) con il quale Nico è già al lavoro per progetti futuri nel Cucca&Racha studio.

L’artista infatti è in continua evoluzione e contemporaneamente alla pubblicazione del cd sta registrando singoli per etichette italiane e straniere come “Talking to You” per Supersonic Sound (Rudie riddim 2009), “Il Rumore del Mare” per Treble Studio vol. 2 e “Forever” per la Das Vibes (Jamaica/Germania).

Nico Royale (born Nicola Boreali in 1983) is the upcoming reggae voice from the Appenninos mountain, in Italy. Born and raised in a little town in the country, his musical skills came to light when he was very young, but the entrance in the dancehall buisness was at the age of 16 with the italian sound system Casalypso.

His first recordings date back in the early years of the 2000 in the Forward the Bass studio, based in the city of Bologna, Italy. From that time he recorded a number of hits and singles for many labels in Italy, Europe and America.

In fact in 2005 he left his home for center America where he lived for a year touring Mexico, Panama, Cuba and Jamaica. Each and every town of the countries he reached had been a chance to collaborate with resident sound systems or artists, inspiring Nico with a million of styles and influences.

Thanks to his melodic but at the same time explosive voice he had the opportunity to perform in some of the most important european festivals longside big artists such as Jah Cure, Lone Ranger, Million Style, Collie Buddz, Alborosie.

In June, 2009 he produced his first official album called "Singa" with 14 tracks in italian that contain lyrics about natural life style, respect for the roots and for the poor people, love, freedom and positiveness towards life.

In the meantime he is working on new tunes with english lyrics as well, to reach a worldwide audience. In 2009 he recorded "Talking To You" on the Rudie riddim by the german based label and sound Supersonic, and "Forever" for the Jamaican label Das Vibes.
