DESCRIPTION:
Lucie Louvrier, mezzo soprano, sings the work "Hecube" op.195 based on verses by the homonymous ancient greek drama by Euripides. The work is dedicated to her. Radar Theatre, March 2017.
The programme of the recital also included works by J.Lee, C.Mantzoros, E.Hunt, F.B.Mache, N.Chatzopoulou and P.Fragistas.
The translation of the text I chose for the variations is :

"Ah me! an awful trial is nigh, it seems, fraught with mourning, rich in tears. Yes, I too escaped death where death had been my due, and Zeus destroyed me not but is still preserving my life, that I may witnessin my misery fresh sorrows surpassing all before."
