Notte, nera sei più del mio cuore ferito
dinnanzi al tuo splendore mi placo e piano sospiro
nelle tue tenebre vive il firmamento
in te la luna splende di profonda passione

guardo la mia ombra muoversi nel suo chiarore
per staccarsi per sempre dal mio corpo morente
Ad un passo dalla morte t'invoco, o notte
Carezza il mio viso, bacia la mia fronte

E' dolce osservarti, oscura, gelida notte
io e te soli immersi in questo silenzio
immensamente distanti dal male terreno
nel buio di questa poetica fine un ultimo profondo respiro

Litania di speranza e morte sei per me, notte nera
mi sento pronto, poesia oscura d'arcana bellezza,
a te m'abbandono e lascio questo mondo
mai più rivedrò il chiarore del sole nascente

Night, you're darker than my wounded heart
In front of your brightness I calm down and I sigh
The firmament lives in your darkness
The moon shines inside of you with deep passion

I'm watching my shade moving in its faint light
To part forever from my dying body
Night I'm invoking you near my death
Fondle my face, kiss my forehead

It's sweet to look at you , dark, cold night
You and me sunk in this silence
Infinitely far from earthly evil
In the dark of this poetic end a last deep breath

Litany of hope and death you are for me, black night,
I feel ready, dark poem of mysterious beauty
I trust you and leave this world
I won't see the light of the dawning sun again.
