Born in 1983, Ming Wei started learning piano at the age of 4 plus. She won the first prize for SONGS 2002, a song writing competition co-organised by National University of Singapore and Exxonmobil. In 2003, she graduated from the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts with a diploma in music and was awarded a NAFA scholarship to continue her studies. In 2004, she graduated with a BA (Hons) in music with second upper class at NAFA affiliated with the University of Wales (UK), majoring in piano performance. In the same year, she obtained her LRSM in piano performance. She just completed her Masters in Piano Performance and is currently pursuing her second Masters in Collaborative Piano with a graduate assistantship in accompaniment at Southern Illinois University Carbondale, USA.
