'All Things Die' by Unholy Alliance (2005) ~ ReMastered 2012 - Video

DESCRIPTION:
Having met and honed our craft for years on the London stage with Industrial Metal band Needleye, James Howard (The Arkham Rebellion) and Toni Kikka formed Unholy Alliance in 2003 to allow us the freedom to play more technical metal than we were doing on stage.
At that time guitar cab impulses didn't even exist, and virtual drums were far from what they are today. That and the fact Toni moved to Denmark made collaboration hard and quality recording even harder - Still, we have been very happy with the songs we did end up making. In fact I was so pleased with All Things Die that I included it on the Arkham Rebellion album Chaos in Symmetry as well in the hope of it reaching more people. Originally recorded between 2003-2006, I went back to the original stem mixes and managed to salvage enough to remaster them for the digital age and share them with whoever will listen.
I didn't want to replace the old drums with something up to date like Superior Drummer as they would have sounded out of place with the guitars and bass and made them sound more dated. Guitars were recorded using a Korg AX1000 pedal, and Drums using Boss DR5 drum machine samples reloaded onto an Akai MPC2000 for programming. If I remember correctly Waves hadn't even invented the Maximizer yet, which gives you an idea of where VSTs were back then too.
