Alexis Keegan (A.K.)

Born and raised within the suburbs of N.J., Alexis Keegan, or A.K., first discovered at the age of 12 that she has what it takes for stardom through her singing, songwriting and dance abilities.

It was around the time when her late father was diagnosed with the last stages of cancer that A.K. first displayed her hidden talent as she serenaded him with Mariah Carey's "Butterfly". It was his never ending appreciation of her love and his newfound admiration of her vocal talent that led A.K. toward the path of singing. It was also at this pivotal time that she vowed to use her vocal skills as a way to help others get through their everyday struggles, just as she did with her loving Father.

Penning her first song when she was 13 and beginning to showcase her singing and dance skills were the first steps in A.K.'s formative years as an entertainer. During her early years at Columbia High School, alma mater of Lauryn Hill, A.K. realized just how powerful her voice was when she became a member of Columbia's M.L.K. Gospel Choir. Despite never having sung in a Gospel choir before, and despite the cultural differences, it was a welcome shock to her and her peers when A.K. was chosen as Lead Vocalist. During her membership, valuable lessons were learned by A.K. She eventually was accepted by everyone, but never judged by others because of race, only her vocal capability and amazing resolve.

Her musical influences range from Pop divas Christina Aguilera and Mariah Carey to R&B and Gospel icons Whitney Houston and Aretha Franklin. She has always been up for any new challenges and these experiences have only helped her discover the true measure of her strength and determination. From putting in 12 hour days in the studio to expressing herself through her dance moves, A.K. has proven to herself and others that hard work always reaps its own rewards.

In April 2009, A.K. caught the attention of music industry veteran and entrepreneur Eddie O'Loughlin, co-Founder and President of Next Plateau Entertainment. Blessed with this amazing opportunity, A.K. showcased her amazing talent for Eddie O. Blown away by her talent, Eddie O. immediately singed A.K. to her first major recording deal. Through this partnership with Next Plateau, A.K. is poised and ready to introduce herself to the world with her first single release on Next Plateau entitled "Hush (My Name Is A.K.)".

A well-rounded performer, encapsulating the true essence of Pop coupled with a strong and undeniable R&B/Dance sound, A.K. is ready to take on the world!!!
