Nate Morton Drum Cam 18 - Don't Rain On My Parade - Video
PUBLISHED:  Apr 11, 2017
DESCRIPTION:
I am sometimes asked, “What is the most challenging song you’ve ever had to play on The Voice?” I’m gonna go ahead and say, this is it… it’s not insane,… it’s not rife with odd meters and unison band licks… and I certainly don’t have to chop out, but this was a pretty chunky arrangement to have to whip together in ONE rehearsal. I think that’s the primary challenge of a show like this… not only the sheer volume of material, but the uniformity of contestant fairness… in other words,.. one contestant might perform a piece completely voice and solo piano… and then there’s THIS… and we are allotted literally the exact same amount of time to get both of those arrangements together.

There have only been maybe 2 or 3 songs we’ve ever performed on the show that I actually needed to write a proper chart… this was one for sure… All that said, I think that we as a band nailed it, and Wé as a contestant KILLED it! Still can’t believe she was only 16 years old at the time… Absolutely amazing!

I hope you all enjoy it… here is the drum cam for Don’t Rain On My Parade as performed by Wé McDonald. Also, here is the performance as it aired on TV…
