Perhaps the biggest inspiration for Nasia was her mother, who paid her dues as a jazz singer at a famous nightclub called Isadora in Cyprus. However, with the advent of war, Nasia's parents fled the town and migrated to Australia.
"My mum taught me to stand strong, to believe in myself and have faith in my abilities. She taught me to have the confidence to make the kind of choices that would make me feel proud. The entertainment industry is tough. You have to know who you are and be strong and hold onto that. My mother also taught me to appreciate classic folk and rock music of the 60's and 70's. Her selection included a line up of artist such as Janis Joplin, Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, Bob Dylan, Tom Waits, Jim Morrison and Pink Ployed. These artist have opened up my eyes to a world I never knew before. It taught me to appreciate music on such a whole new level. Rock music places words and musicianship in the foreground. Its about the art, as opposed to glamour and image, which is the main focal point for mainstream music."
At 15, Nasia started using her poetry in music. She joined the school band, formed jam sessions at lunchtimes and had so much fun through her love of music that she started writing original songs and performing in and out of school.
Nasia is currently an Arts student at the University of Sydney studying musicology and anthropology. Nasia is currently in the process of recording her album.

.MY COMMENTS BAR RULZ.
Although I have made the decision to allow html comments to my profile page, it does't mean that I give you a "ticket to ryde" as you like. There are some simple and common sense tips if you don't want me to delete your comment:
3 simple rulz:
1) NO NUDITY. I admire human naked beauty but I do not condone pornographic videos or pictures. Unless the nudity in the photo is very artistic and subtle, I will delete it.
2) NO AUDIO or VIDEO players that START AUTOMATICALLY on my page. It is only common sense. It is an act of inconsideration as it distorts and interferes with my profile page. I am also an artist which means I want to promote my music too.
3) NO EXTRA LARGE BANNERS. Please keep your banners standard size. Extremely large banners that take up too much vertical space is too distracting on other myspace users who also want to add a comment to me or to promote their work on my page.

I will support you and I will be open to accept any promotional events or products you have so long as it does not distract, distort or interfere with my profile page. I love seing what other artists are up to, so all promotion is cool with me so long as it is done ethically.
Any unethical practices will have one of the 2 consequences:

a) It will be deleted
OR
b) You will be defriended

I am writing this blog because, apparently, common sense is not so common. For all myspace bunnies who behave and eat all their carrots- I LUV U guys! You keep me sane.
