On August 14th, 2015 the movie “Straight Outta Compton” premiered and quickly became the highest grossing music biopic of all time. While the movie depicted N.W.A. as a rap group dedicated to freedom of speech and social commentary there was no mention of the fact that N.W.A’s rap lyrics sensationalized negative male/female relationships, sexual promiscuity, disrespect of women, and the indiscriminate murder of boys and girls.

This documentary “N.W.A. ~ A Critical Analysis” will take a balanced look at the positive and negative aspects of N.W.A’s lyrics and will also explore issues related to male/female relationships, motherhood, fatherhood, self-esteem, and family building.

Two weeks ago we interviewed 6 men including Salahdeen Asad, Sadiki Bakari, GaKnew Roxwel, Lucas Eddens, Keidi Awadu, and Lonzo Williams. In the coming weeks we will be interviewing 6 women including Sonia Barrett, Nubia I, Ayida Honor, and Akunundrum. Your contribution to this crowd funding campaign will help us with recording expenses and will move us one step closer towards finishing this important documentary. What is the purpose of this Crowdfunding Campaign?

The purpose of this crowdfunding campaign is to raise the funds needed to complete the interview recording process for the 6 women. Here is the budget breakdown:
Speaker Fees: $2,100
Travel Expenses: $350
Lighting Kit Rental: $250
Snacks/Refreshments for 6 interview guests: $100

Our Crowdfunding Goal: $2,800

If for any reason we do not reach our crowd funding goal I will move forward and start the women's interview recording process with whatever funds are available. If we raise more than the goal then I will apply the extra money towards the completion of the documentary soundtrack.
