Naomi Chan is the latest in a long tradition of female vocalists to take their chance in the Pop R'n'B arena, the lucky thing is that Naomi has the talent to survive.



Hailing from Colchester, Essex, Naomi describes her music as a funky pop, a fusion of rnb, hip hop, rock and pop music which she cites as the main influences in her unique and original style.



Naomi's vocal influences start with her father who was the lead singer in a local covers band and was her main influence to hearing any type ofmusic. He played to Naomi the likes of Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, Aretha Franklin and Bob Marley. Naomi herself sparked by those influential sounds started to listen to the R'n'B being made for her generation and found listening to people such as Mary J.Blige and Aaliyah as refreshing and influential as the greats introduced to her by her father.



Along with an insane sense of passion & drive to show her vocal talent, Naomi has a strong sense of yearning for writing, stating that she loves to co-write and wants to develop more of her own abilities and talents in this area.



In that area she has a definite hero in terms of writing and music production, she says, "Timbaland is the producer I would most like to work with, as his sound is the one I most identified with growing up". Of her contemporaries today Naomi really admires artists such as Usher, Justin, Mariah and Omarion with whom she coyly admits that she would love to do a duet.
