Myra Melford & Ben Goldberg: Dialogue - Video
PUBLISHED:  Jul 04, 2015
DESCRIPTION:
For our set as part of my residency at the Stone we performed compositions by each of us. In this video, you can hear a new piece of mine called "Chorale", which segues into Ben’s "9 + 5". Subscribe for a new music video every week this summer: http://bit.ly/1S8mBVl

One of the greatest things about moving to Berkeley, CA to teach at the University of California in 2004 was meeting and starting to play music with the great clarinetist and composer, Ben Goldberg.

He plays with my Be Bread Sextet on The Whole Tree Gone, and I’m in his project Orphic Machine, which has a fabulous new recording out (Please check it out!).

As a duo, that we call Dialogue, we have toured Europe, South America, and all around the U.S. since 2008, and we’ve just recorded our first album, which will be out in the coming months.

During late March of this year, I performed a 12-show retrospective at The Stone in NYC, which gave me a chance to revisit many of my projects from the past 25 years.
