Dark and moody vibes are the common theme on the Mecca EP which teams The SubDivision with Seattle's Dubtek on a journey to the darkside. The title track, Mecca, utilizes mystical atmospheres, huge throbbing subbass and crisp percussion to deliver a bleak and highly meditative vibe. Gravity graces us with his Mecca Remix and impresses with his mastery of bassline science and percussive mayhem -- he transitions effortlessly from a drawn-out ambient intro to fierce basswork and tons of tube reverb, delivering a real treat for the senses. The Perfect Storm is utterly sinister as well -- intricate percussion structures, deep subbass and razor sharp disharmonic synthwork combine to form an epic monster of a track.
