Lincoln's Gettysburg Address - Choral work by Bruce Montgomery, adapted by Robert Hallock - Video
PUBLISHED:  Dec 30, 2011
DESCRIPTION:
Bruce Montgomery's choral setting of Lincoln's Gettysburg Address originally was composed for the University of Pennsylvania Glee Club, an all male chorus. In 2011, the Bruce Montgomery Foundation for the Arts and Baruch/Gayton Entertainment Group asked Robert Hallock to adapt this stirring work for mixed chorus. With the 300 member Stadium of Fire Chorus, directed by Brett Rasmussen, and orchestral arrangement by Mark Denis, this piece was sung to great acclaim on July 2, 2011, as the opening number at the annual Stadium of Fire in Provo, Utah, presented by America's Freedom Festival and broadcast to U.S. Military bases worldwide over the Armed Forces Network. Information about available SATB and TTBB arrangements of this work can be found at http://www.brucemontgomeryfoundation.org.
