Moiano’s second album ‘2nd Line’ is finally ready. We had to wait for more than four years after moiano’s debutalbum ‘Soulschool’, not that there was any sign of laziness. Peter Lesage (35), mister Moiano, had been busy as a sideman for Gabriel Rios and Flip Kowlier. In the meantime ex-starflam member Baloji asked Peter to coproduce what came to be the excellent album ‘Hotel Impala’.



‘2nd Line’ gives you that same high quality from the first song till the last. Moiano brings together the spirit of the old soul & funk legends with a pop attitude without losing the skills of a jazzmusician. The very melodic vocal and stringarrangements supported by the sound of the organs, rhodes, wurlitzers combined with a hip-hoppy kick – snare gives moiano that very warm and unique sound. It’s one of those records you want to listen to over and over again.



The live band is one of a kind. With members of Zap Mama and Joy Denalane it can’t go wrong. Nine groovy musicians on stage means party and lots of fun !!!

In the 10 years of their existence they played numeral prestigious festivals such as Blue Note Festival, Dranouter, Pukkelpop and the ‘United Islands Festival’ (cz )



-The ‘first line’ of the infamous jazz-funerals were the people as part of the ceremony, clubmembers, family and friends. Brightly coloured beads and feathers were offered to the ‘second line’. This referred to people who were attracted to the music. Such people would follow behind the ‘first line’. Later it became more common for these onlookers to mix in or even get ahead of the band and first line. To follow because one enjoyed the music came to be known as to ‘second line’.
